Women's Wednesdays is an original art project by Ronnie which features internationally capped women's rugby players (chosen from his followers' suggestions each week).

Women's Wednesdays is about doing something in my power to help raise the profile of women in sports, particularly rugby. Partly influenced by Pop Surrealism, I usually tie something into the narrative that has been inspired by video games.

The artwork was made by using a combination of long exposure (light painting) photography and digital art techniques. This is the seventh piece from the project and features English rugby player
- Openside Flanker - Maggie Alphonsi.
Here I present Maggie, in the jackal position at the breakdown, successfully doing a turnover.
Maggie's nickname is Maggie the Machine and rightly so. Because of that, I wanted to take inspiration (very loosely) from a video game called Tron. Actually, it's a fictional video game from a movie, but I'll explain why it was my choice.
Maggie has been actively promoting and influencing change in rugby. Particularly for women and BAME girls, boys, women and men. So my choice for this week was about a change, influenced by Maggie and ultimately about me doing something differently.
Each artwork from the series is available to download for free and can be used for personal, non-commercial and educational purposes. For example a device screensaver or poster print (up to A3 size) for your wall.
